FERRETTI YACHTS 580

The ground breaking new Ferretti Yachts 580 at 18m (59ft) sets a high bar in many parameters, performance from smaller more efficient Volvo engines with the aft V-Drive power configuration gaining a massive amount of extra internal spaces and a faster more quiet ride in any sea state, always a few knots faster than the competition. Open plan vistas and oversized windows, open sightlines and an exceptional quality interior add up to a fitting addition to this world class yacht range.

INTERIOR

The compact Volvo V-Drive engine and gearbox configuration, allows the interior volume to be utilised to the maximum. Its two bathroom layout has an impressively large desk/vanity and wardrobe for the liveaboard owner-driver. A family-friendly open-plan style saloon, with galley in a convivial location at the rear, separated by a large electrically operated window, giving the convenience for serving inside or out. A passageway from the helm positions to the aft cockpit is one uninterrupted area. Instantly noticeable are the large windows throughout especially the saloon for extra light and enjoying quiet anchorages. Offered in two layouts, Contemporary and Classic, both featuring three cabins, the different configurations give a new owner a really different accommodation choice.

EXTERIOR

Even in the marina the new Ferretti Yachts 580 looks exceptionally sleek and fast with the window design, highlighting the new hull lines from stem to stern and importantly adding to the glazed areas to create a lighter interior. Detailing the sheer line, the superstructure sits perfectly on the powerful hull shape and the huge elongated flybridge adding the finishing touch to the dynamic lines. A prominent feature is the bow lounge with a pair of opposite sofas and a large walkaround sunpad.

PERFORMANCE

For the Ferretti Yachts 580 there is a fundamental change to this new size range substituting the MAN power train for the lighter, more powerful (and fuel efficient) Volvo engine options, coupled to V-Drives. This places the engines in a smaller footprint aft adding more useable space for interior volume and cabin space. Two engine options are available to match the desired custom performance. Option one is a pair of the Volvo 900 PS (888hp), option two is the 1000PS (986hp) units. Performance figures are yet to be released. Most superfast commercial ferries and catamarans around the world use Humphree Dynamic trim interceptors, which are standard on the new FY580 to smooth out the ride with no spilled glasses.
